A series of comprehensive health screenings are scheduled at Forestry Commission headquarters and other various locations around the state this summer and fall, so be sure to sign up for this free health benefit as soon as possible. To register for this important benefit, please email Chetna Patel at cpatel@scfc.gov, and she will schedule you the earliest appointment time available.
Below are the dates and locations of regional screening events for the remainder of the calendar year. Visit www.peba.sc.gov to register for any of the regional screening events listed below:
- September 16 & 17 – Columbia
- October 19 – Rock Hill
- November 20 – Darlington
This screening, worth nearly $500, is offered at no cost to employees, retirees, spouses, dependent children ages 19 and older, and COBRA subscribers who have primary coverage with the State Health Plan.
Within three weeks after your screening, you will receive your results highlighting any values outside the normal range. You can even send your results to your physician or take a copy with you on your next doctor’s office visit, which may save you money and keep you from duplicating tests.
Terms and Conditions
- The preventive screening requires a 12-hour fasting prior to your appointment time; however, you may drink water during this 12-hour period. We encourage you to drink plenty of water prior to your screening, which helps with the blood draw.
- If you take medications, please continue to do so.
- Arrive as close to your designated appointment time as possible.
- Bring your insurance card with you to the screening. Your benefits identification number (BIN), which is on your insurance card, is required when filling out paperwork.
- The plan allows for one preventive screening per calendar year (January to December).
- If Medicare or TRICARE is your primary insurance, you are not eligible to receive a screening at no cost.
- At your screening, you will have the option to send your screening results to BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina to help you better manage your health.
- Appointment times are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
