Congratulations are in order for Kershaw/Lee Sector Fire Management Officer (FMO) Colby Blizzard for graduating from the SC Criminal Justice Academy July 11 with Class 835.
Colby is a certified Class 1 Law Enforcement Officer, and, as part of the SCFC, receives additional training on forestry law, wildland fire behavior, forest fire investigation and incident management.
He joined the Forestry Commission in September 2024. Colby lives in Lugoff and attended Lugoff-Elgin High School. He previously worked with the Lugoff Fire Department and Camden Fire Department.

Congratulations to Chesterfield/Lancaster Sector Fire Management Officer (FMO) Molly Hopkins for graduating from the SC Criminal Justice Academy Aug. 22! Hopkins graduated with Class 838 on Friday and was later sworn in at SCFC headquarters by Law Enforcement Chief Tommy Mills.
Before her role as a FMO, Hopkins worked as a forestry technician at Sand Hills State Forest. She attended Horry Georgetown Technical College and majored in forestry with an emphasis in wildlife.
