Communications
- The Kenwood VP8000 Tri-Band radios will be issued over multiple dates the last two weeks of July.
- Generator replacement project is in process. We are having issues with finding small enough generators for sites. Sites were 7.5 KW and new ones are a minimum of 10 KW. Oversized generators will have issues with not enough load on the motor. Most sites will also need additional electrical and site prep for new generators to meet code. DTO has told us about another company that does solar with battery for remote infrastructure sites that may be a better option.
- Fire Detection Cameras: The two Piedmont fire detection cameras are mounted and install, and installation will be completed by the end of next week. We do not have a site yet for the 3rd camera as every location that we have looked at in Horry has required a lease for tower space with high monthly rent.
- FirstNet phones will be replaced either mid-July or mid-August. We will have deployment dates for each region and one makeup day here in Columbia. All new phones will be iPhones.
